Lately I have become very aware of time. Not that time didn’t exist before but it is seeming to move quicker every day. I realized that if you sleep 7 hours a night, you have 120 hours a week that you are awake. That is 17 hours a day.
Now that seems like a lot of time. However, I started counting hours getting ready for the day, hours getting ready for bed, and hours eating and preparing food, and I discovered a lot of time gets used up just for surviving. Now if you have had the opportunity to live outside for any amount of time you know that the amount of time spent on survival goes way up. For modern convenience I am thankful.
The next category of time is work. I typically work 6 days a weeks for 8 hours each day (Or attempt to. If I was perfect in time management I could accomplish my work in half the time most days. There always seems to be a fire that needs a fireman.) That’s 48 hours. Then there is driving to work which for me is usually around 4 days a week and a little over an hour round trip, 4 more hours.
Needless to say I came to the conclusion that time is very precious and that I don’t know how many grains of sands came with my hourglass. My mind is screaming don’t waste a minute. My heart cries out don’t miss this. I know time management is only going to get harder as life progresses. So another resolution for this year, become a better steward with my time.
