Seattle has officially moved to Texas specifically Waco. I don’t mind one bit the rain and clouds are very comforting.
I must say though that I have learned that Cameron Park becomes a very interesting place to ride after a deluge of rain. I continue to learn things about myself through mountain biking.
So far I have learned:
That I know when to jump off. At one point I found myself standing on the trail clutching my bike as it dangled out over the deep dark chasm(Yes Waco has these). I have no idea how I ended up on my feet or even my bike. I guess jumping off is not a thought it is an instinct. Granted you say why do your instincts not just keep you on the trail. I wish I knew.
The second thing I have learned is that I am a fat man in a skinny body. I am not even at any sort of altitude but my lungs don’t know any different. I guarantee you the pain I felt could have been nothing less than my lungs turning in side out followed by my heart being jumped by my liver and strangled by my intestines.
Finally, a layer of mud on top of hard clay makes for better laughs than a banana peel.
For all my faithful readers out there sorry for my absence. The cat has had my fingers but I am training the dog to keep it away.
